Privacy Policy
Who we are
Anchovy ("Anchovy," "we," "us") provides a sales companion application for new home construction consultants. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit anchovyapp.com or use the Anchovy application, how we use it, and the choices you have.
If you have questions about this policy, email privacy@anchovyapp.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information — name, email, phone, company, role, password (stored hashed).
- Content you create — client and realtor profiles, communication logs, notes, templates, goals, documents you upload, and any other data you enter into Anchovy.
- Billing information — handled by our payment processor; we store only a limited token and the last four digits of your card.
- Support correspondence — messages you send us and our replies.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — features used, timestamps, interactions, approximate device and browser information.
- Log data — IP address, request times, error traces, and similar diagnostics.
- Cookies and similar technologies — used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand aggregate usage.
Information from third parties
- LinkedIn — if you connect your LinkedIn account to post content, we receive the scopes you authorize (typically profile identifiers and posting permission). We do not read your LinkedIn messages or connections.
- Other integrations — any service you connect (e.g., email or calendar) may share the data required for that integration to function.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve Anchovy.
- Generate suggested content (captions, emails, texts) when you request it — see Section 05: AI features.
- Send service notifications, security alerts, and product updates you've opted into.
- Diagnose bugs, prevent abuse, and enforce our terms.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your client or realtor data to train public AI models.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Anchovy and only to the extent they need it. These currently include:
- Hosting and infrastructure — cloud hosting, database, and backup providers.
- Analytics and error monitoring — aggregated usage and crash reports.
- Payment processing — handled by a PCI-compliant processor.
- AI providers — when you use a feature that generates content, the prompt is sent to a third-party AI provider under a contract that prohibits training on your data. See Section 05.
- LinkedIn and other integrations you connect — governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger or acquisition (in which case we'll give you notice).
AI features
When you use an AI-powered feature (for example, rewriting an email or generating a caption), the text you provide and any relevant context are sent to our AI provider for processing. The provider returns a suggested output, which you can then edit, send, or discard.
Our AI provider is contractually prohibited from using your inputs or outputs to train their models. We do not retain prompts beyond what's needed to deliver the feature, troubleshoot issues, and improve quality.
AI output is a suggestion. You are responsible for reviewing anything you send to a buyer, realtor, or on social media.
Data retention
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your content within 30 days, except where we're legally required to keep records (for example, billing records for tax purposes).
Backups are rotated and purged on a regular schedule.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Complain to a data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@anchovyapp.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
A note about the data you enter. Much of what you put in Anchovy is information about other people — your buyers, realtors, and prospects. You are responsible for making sure you have an appropriate basis to collect and use that information, and for honoring their requests under applicable law.
Security
We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and routine reviews to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we'll notify you as required by law.
Children
Anchovy is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International users
Anchovy is operated from the United States. If you use Anchovy from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have different data protection rules than your country.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll give you notice in the app or by email before the changes take effect. The "Effective" date at the top tells you when the current version took effect.
